Pick-up/Drop-off Procedures

Arrival information

  • Tuesday–Friday: 8:10–8:25 am (tardy after 8:25).

  • Late Start Monday: 9:15–9:30 am (tardy after 9:30).

  • If you arrive late, please park in the front lot and walk your child to the front door to sign them in.

  • Reminder: Arrival locations are the same as dismissal locations.

Dismissal information

  • Dismissal begins at 3:00 pm.

  • Students remain in classrooms until they are called to their dismissal location.

  • If your child’s dismissal plan isn’t confirmed, please call the office Tuesday morning.

Locations for dismissal

  • Sumner MS Car Loop (front of SMS): 1st, 2nd graders, and their older siblings. Please don’t arrive before 2:50.

  • Maple Lawn Car Loop (back lot by the fields): 3rd–5th graders. Please don’t arrive before 2:50.

  • Bus Loop (front of school): Bus riders.

  • Playground Swings: For neighborhood walkers with parent pickup. Families should wait in this area or under the playshed. Playground is closed until 3:15 pm.

  • Independent Walkers: Students walk out the front entrance and must use crosswalks.

  • Right At School: Students meet their lead in the MPR.

Pick-up tags

  • Each family receives two number tags for pick-up.

  • Please display your tag clearly in your car window (not flat on the dash).

  • Anyone picking up must have the tag or show ID in the office.

  • Walking parents must also carry their tag.

Changes & Early Pick-Up

  • For same-day dismissal changes, call the office by 2:30 pm.

  • For early dismissal, sign your child out in the office.

  • No dismissals after 2:45 pm.
